MunchiMaps is an interactive vending machine tracker designed for the Rensselaer campus, providing a convenient way for students and staff to locate nearby vending machines and food options. The website enables users to view details on snack availability, report issues like machine outages or out-of-stock items.
For my role in the project, I designed the visual experience for MunchiMaps, aiming for a clean, user-friendly interface that balances functionality with aesthetics. To achieve this, I incorporated OpenStreetMaps for interactive mapping and used copyright-free icons from the Feather icon pack. The design was influenced by Apple and Google’s guidelines to ensure an intuitive and visually appealing experience. I was part of this project from June-August 2024 and we achieved our goals for the semester; however, the site is not close to being fully finished.
